NPR: "Funny Honey? Bringing Trust To A Sector Full Of Suspicion"

Yup, second story on bees from NPR today! This one: honey-washing.

I'm suspect of honey sourced from all over the world. And, as the story suggests, more than half the honey consumed by Americans comes from other countries. Honey is not meant to be mass produced. Hmm. Maybe the solution to a lot of these problems is to support from local apiaries! It's meant to be made in small quantities, monitored by a conscientious beekeeper who can closely monitor the hives. You avoid any suspicions of mistreatment of the bees (um, yeah, no mass killings of bees) and can guarantee that your honey is real.
