Who can forget the tomato blight of summer '09 that hit the Northeast? Anxious tomato lovers thought farmers were simply hiding tomatoes at the farm, but really, there were none. Now, instead of relying on canned tomatoes when fresh aren't available, people who want "fresh" tomatoes are freaking out because warm weather climates, especially Florida, have been hit with colder weather.
In short, fewer tomatoes = higher costs, or a good chance that people may need to go without
tomatoes on their Big Macs. ::gasp!!::
