Last year, I spent many Saturdays at the Fairfield Indoor Market when I was at school. And, now that I'm back home, I've been looking for another indoor market to occupy my time, and I now I found one.
I've heard quite a lot about the Litchfield Hills indoor farmers' market. I finally checked out the Web site, and it looks really fun! It has quite the impressive list of vendors, including Wave Hill breads, Bantam Bread Company and the farm that kept my iron and vitamin B levels up during the winter, Starlight Gardens.
I was all psyched to go this weekend, but it's not being held again until Jan. 23. But, when it does return next week, here's what you need to know (location, dates):
Can't wait to check it out. For those of you how have been, what'd you think?
Also, check out this link from the Connecticut Department of Agriculture on winter farmers' markets. The ground may be snow covered, but farmers and local artisans don't hibernate. Support your local growers and businesses!
