Tri-state NPR listeners may be familiar with foodie Faith Middleton, and her radio show - "The Faith Middleton Show." Wednesdays are the best days to listen because it's all about food. This week, "Accidental Vegan" author Devra Gartenstein discussed some recipes from her book while also demystifying the vegan diet.
A few weeks ago, I was looking through "The Accidental Vegan" and was really impressed. Living on a no-animal product diet can become rote if you don't expand your vegan recipe box. The recipes use simple and accessible items, making sure not to scare non-vegans off from trying some delicious dishes.
On a side note, Gartenstein is also the author of my cookbook - "Local Bounty" - which uses seasonal veggies in vegan dishes. It was really a lifesaver when I was doing a local diet challenge.
