Even more reason to shop at farmers' markets: Delicious prepared food!!

So, I work at this really cool farm in Roxbury, Connecticut called Riverbank Farm. Not only do we grow certified organic fruits, veggies and flowers, but we have an awesome chef and caterer, Cassandra Purdy. To learn more about what she cooks and how she seeks inspiration, read this article from the Litchfield County Times.

If you haven't heard of Riverbank Farm, we sell to New Morning natural food store in Woodbury, a few restaurants in the area - including The Dressing Room and The Elms - and at the following markets:

Darien Wednesdays 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Westport Thursdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Ridgefield Fridays 3 p.m. -7 p.m
New Milford Saturdays 9 a.m. - noon (on the town green)
New Canaan Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Greenwich Saturdays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
New Haven Sundays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (check out the link to learn about the City Seed program)

I can't say enough about how important it is to support not just local growers, but farmers and businesses that are committed to organic, biodynamic and/or environmentally responsible practices and products. Visit localharvest.org to find the closest farmers' market to you; it's a perfect time to buy fresh and delicious food!
